PRISMA Framework: Digital Citizenship & Democracy in Action

EuroMuévete is part of the PRISMA Framework for Digital Citizenship and Democracy (2026–2028), a European initiative coordinated by GEYC within the PRISMA European Network. Through this framework, we contribute to strengthening digital citizenship, democratic participation, and safe online civic engagement, especially among young people and underrepresented groups.

What is PRISMA?
The PRISMA Framework connects organisations across the EU to promote active, critical, and responsible digital citizenship. Its goal is to empower over 1,000 citizens by 2028 through coordinated actions such as national labs, European campaigns, and cross-border learning opportunities.

PRISMA also treats communication as a core delivery tool to mobilise participants, raise awareness, and scale results beyond local impact to the European level.

Our role at EuroMuévete
As a member organisation, EuroMuévete will implement local activities in Spain, contributing to the framework through:

  • Organising one National Digital Democracy Lab with at least 20 participants
  • Actively contributing to the European Digital Citizenship Week through 2 local awareness events
  • Participating in European initiatives such as the European Digital Youth Summit (EDYS)
  • Developing communication and documentation outputs to showcase results and impact

These actions are supported through the Financial Support to Third Parties (FSTP) mechanism, which enables local initiatives aligned with EU values.

Why digital citizenship matters
In a context shaped by misinformation and digital challenges, it is essential for citizens, especially young people, to develop the skills to:

  • Understand their rights and responsibilities online
  • Participate safely and actively in democratic processes
  • Identify reliable information and counter disinformation

PRISMA supports this by strengthening the capacity of youth organisations, promoting quality standards, and providing practical tools for action.

Did you know?
Digital citizenship is not just about being online, it’s about actively participating in democratic life through digital tools, from online activism to informed decision-making.
