Door to Door

Door to Door is an innovative small-scale strategic partnership aimed at empowering youth sector NGOs in Poland, Spain, and Portugal. Through collaboration, this project enhances entrepreneurship and management skills among youth leaders and organization staff, emphasizing the power of negotiation, fundraising, and civic activism. The primary focus is on equipping participants with practical knowledge and tools to navigate the complexities of NGO-business relationships.

Objectives: The main goals of the project include:

  • Enhancing negotiation skills for effective NGO-business partnerships
  • Building organizational image and reputation
  • Developing cooperation offers and strategic business networks
  • Creating a sustainable, integrated business approach for NGOs across Europe

Target Group: Participants consist of youth leaders, youth workers, and NGO staff. They gain valuable skills and insights to share within their local communities, empowering young people with knowledge on negotiation, fundraising, and civic engagement.

Activities & Timeline: The project involves three main phases, each hosted by one of the partner countries:

Activity 1 – Poland (August 2024):
This phase includes workshops focused on business-based negotiation skills for youth workers and staff. Participants will explore NGO-business cooperation standards, build organizational image, and increase their negotiation skills by 70%. This activity also fosters cultural awareness and social skills among young people. Afterward, participants will organize workshops within their local communities, sharing lesson plans and scenarios developed during the activity.

Activity 2 – Portugal (October 2024):
Participants will dive into fundraising techniques for social projects, including negotiation, budget management, and planning. By the end of this phase, each organization will develop an annual fundraising plan and contribute to the “NGO Negotiation Manual.” Through collaborative learning, they will refine their managerial, financial, and organizational abilities.

Activity 3 – Spain (December 2024):
The final phase will consolidate the knowledge gained throughout the project. Participants will finalize the “NGO Negotiation Manual” and plan youth workshops post-project completion. Three full-day workshops, one in each country, will further disseminate the skills and insights gained. The objective is to ensure the project’s impact extends to a broader audience, including indirect beneficiaries such as local communities and other NGOs.

    Expected Results:

    • A finalized NGO Negotiation Manual that serves as a comprehensive guide for NGOs on effective negotiation practices
    • Development of lesson plans and workshop scenarios that can be shared online
    • Annual fundraising plans tailored to each partner organization
    • Strengthened partnerships, skills, and competencies that will elevate the participating NGOs to a European level of quality

The Door to Door project aspires to build a strong network of NGOs that work effectively with businesses, enhancing their fundraising capabilities and expanding their impact on local communities. By focusing on knowledge-sharing and collaboration, the project aims to leave a lasting legacy with the publication of the “NGO Negotiation Manual” and ongoing youth workshops across partner countries.
